Hi.
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on why I'm getting such slow 4K Write speeds with the GA-F2A88XN -WIFI Motherboard compared to my Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 board.
As mentioned, my problem only seems to be with the random 4K Write test, the sequential read/write tests are about the same as I'm getting with the Asus.
Example:- M5A97 LE R2.0
Crucial SSD -- 4K Write = 20 MB/s
Intergral SSD -- 4K Write = 23 MB/s
Example:- GA-F2A88XN
Crucial SSD -- 4K Write = 2.0 MB/s
Intergral SSD -- 4K Write = 4.22 MB/s
That is not a typo! The Crucial is 10 times slower when plugged into the Gigabyte than it is when plugged into the Asus, and the Integral is nearly 5 times slower!
I've also tried a Corsair ForceGT 60GB with the Gigabyte and the 4K Write Speed was a very disappointing 11 MB/s. Again, about 10 times slower then what I've seen else where on the web.
I'm at a loss to why this is, I think I have the board set-up right.
I enabled AHCI is the Bios before installing Win7(64bit), I seem to have the AMD Sata Controllers installed, I have the latest Bios for my board (results were the same with the previous bios too). I tried testing all 4 sata ports, that makes no difference.
Any ideas anyone?
Tommy.
