GA890XA-UD3/ access BIOS setup

I have one of these boards and upgraded the memory to 1866mhz from 1600mhz. It works fine but, I can't enter the BIOS setup to make any changes. I added these 2x 4gb modules into number 3 & 4 slot, like it says to in the book and online but, I STILL can't access the BIOS, no matter what I do.
I put 2 of the 1600 chips back in and can get into BIOS no problem, I even tried adding the 2 1600mhz chips in 1&2, 3&4 and I could still access the BIOS but with the 1866 ones, no go at all.
It seems silly to me to advertise that the board WILL accept 1866mhz modules but, won't allow access to the BIOS setup. anyone have any ideas as to why this would happen?

BTW, when I hit the Delete button to gain access, there are words coming up at the bottom of the screen saying entering BIOS but all it does it sit there and the little flashing cursor running at the top left hand. The machine is running THE latest BIOS for this model, FD.

Put in the 1866 ram then clear cmos and try to get into bios.

I did exactly that before I even put the ram in and I did it AGAIN after I put the ram in. I think it is ridiculous that I have to put the 1600mhz ram back in to access the BIOS. I guess I will have to send a request to Gigabyte which I doubt will help.

there are two possible reasons for your problem.

1.  BAD memory stick(s).  Your 1600 sticks work and the 1866 DON'T?

2. you are counting the memory slots wrong.  DDR3_3 and DDR3_4 are the two slots furthest from the CPU.
  ( or the two slots closest to the edge of the motherboard) .  If you put 1866 memory sticks in the two slots
 close to the CPU you WILL have problems.

What CPU are you using? It could be a limitation of that CPU causing it also.

According to the Owner's Manual, the 3rd and 4th memory slots are the furthest from the CPU socket and that is where I put them in.
They are BRAND new Kingston 1866mhz, CL10, 2x4gb dual channel ram. The NEW Ram works flawlessly but the ONLY thing is that with them in, I cannot access the BIOS setup at all. BTW, the setting for ram (in the BIOS) will only allow to change the ram setting to 1600mhz (x8).

The board is a revsion II with FDA BIOS update, I am using a Phenom II 955 CPU, NOT OVERCLOCKED.
