Problems with the GT 740 gv-n740d50c-2gi

Last week I brought the GT740 video card and slotted it into the H97 Game3 motherboard. Load the drivers and randomly the PC restarts. It's like hitting the reset switch. Without the drivers and only running the VGA drivers, it is fine until you do something graphics based and then it resets again. I have tried the gigabyte drivers, Nvidia drivers and gone back 4 versions but everything is the same.
has anyone else had this problem?

Are you running the latest BIOS for your motherboard? If I have located the correct MSI board the newest BIOS improves VGA compatibility http://www.msi.com/support/mb/H97_GAMING_3.html#down-bios

Ok. I'll give that a shot and let you know what the results are. I thought that might just address any issues with the on board VGA. I have this disabled in the BIOS currently.

No. I updated to the latest using the live update. It also updated the chipset driver. It was going smoothly for about 30min then turned off, turned back on and rebooted

Does the PC shutdown/reboot if you run it in safe mode?

Are your system temps OK?

What OS are you running?
