GA-Z77MX-D3H onboard HDMI has stopped working
« on: October 12, 2014, 01:45:12 pm »
System details below.  I'm looking for advice on how to get my HDMI connection working again.

System was working for past year or more with Panasonic TV (37LZD800) as only monitor - connected via HDMI cable to onboard graphics - Intel HD2500. Now no picture (either on boot or in Windows) via HDMI. I have tried different monitors and different HDMI cables, but still no picture. No problem and good performance with DVI graphics and with old style 15 pin VGA, but I need HDMI to use the pc with my TV (that is its main function).

System had been working fine running f9 BIOS. In an effort to fix the HDMI problem I have updated to f15 BIOS but that has not solved the problem. Loading optimised BIOS defaults has not solved problem. Monitor connected via HDMI is not detected by Windows. Intel graphics drivers are up to date (as are all other drivers). Windows 7 is up to date.

I did have a local power cut shortly before the problem appeared, and also some brief power outages during thunderstorms.  Is it possible that the HDMI could be fried, but without any damage to the rest of the system?

System Details:
  • GA-Z77MX-D3H (rev1.0) motherboard
    Intel Core i5-3550 CPU
    2x 4GB G-Skill DDR3
    Antec Earthwatts 650W psu
    Crucial M4 128GB SSD
