H87m-D3H audio recording devices not found
« on: November 02, 2014, 06:59:57 pm »
Hi,

Just built a new system with the H87m-D3H:
I7-4790
Crucial Ballistic Sport 16GB
Samsung Pro 850 512
SYBA SY-PEX30016 PCIe firewire card
MSI GTX 770
Windows 8.1
Mbox Pro 2 firewire audio interface.

None of the audio devices capable of input are showing up in Control Panel>Sound>Recording.  I don't really care about the onboard sound, but neither that nor the mbox are showing as an available recording device in any app (soundbooth, skype, win sound recorder, etc). I've uninstalled and reinstalled the audio drivers for both.  If I plug-in a USB headset, it will appear as a recording device.  Why wouldn't the mbox or mb audio show-up?

Any ideas?

Figured it out.  I hadn't known that you can right click on the list of Control Panel sound devices for a context menu.  There was an option to show disabled devices--not something I saw in Device Manager.  I selected it and all input devices appeared.  It's weird that all devices install as disabled.  But everything is working now, so it doesn't matter.
