Do I have TRIM support to my SSDs in RAID0?

Hi Everyone,

I am using a Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 motherboard (http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4288#sp) with an Intel I7 3820 processor. I have enabled RAID within the BIOS settings, and have configured two Samsung SSDs in RAID0 configuration. Furthermore I am running Windows 7 Ultimate (x64).

Given the information above can anybody tell me if my SSDs are operating with TRIM support?

Furthermore if they are not what do I need to do to get TRIM going (e.g.: which BIOS, etc)?

Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

According to the 'fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify' command TRIM is configured correctly on my computer. However I am wondering if this is a concrete indication that TRIM is indeed supported by both the BIOS and the SATA option ROM? Any further guidance will be greatly appreciated.

The thing is windows controls the trim. All the trim is that you don't have to defrag your SSD. Trim is doing that all the time that you are running.

It is keeping everything in order so you get the best performance out of you SSD. The first SSD didn't have that option. The new SSD will work with windows and set it up on it's own.

AHCI & Raid are the same so yes your sata rom supports trim if you have them set to that.

Trim is not supported until the z97 boards with intel chipsets when you use two SSD drives in raid.

So if doesn't work on older then Z79 boards. Then why does windows tell you that the trim is working. 

So Autotech what you are saying is that don't believe what windows is telling you.

Intel didn't include support for 6-series chipsets

Correct I had to contact coarsair because I wanted to use raid on 2 of their SSD's.  I was just going to put windows on a 240 gig SSD and then put all my games on the other one because I have seen what not having trim does.

YellowBeard the coarsair support specialist told me Starting with the Z97 chipset on intel boards only so far that raid 0 would support trim.

On my older chipset board windows shows it is working but it really isn't. Windows just has it enabled but it is up to the chipset to implement it. I can attest that in fact it does work with the Z97 chipset.

I can also attest that on a GA-990 chipset it doesn't work. Main way you can tell is that over a period of time id say 3 months I lost about 20 gigs without installing a thing. Windows said it was working but it wasn't. 
I have had this since may and haven't lost a bit though I have the same programs installed and I still have 368 gig free the same as I did 4 months ago.

As for ity working on a 7 series in coarsair SSD support forum I was told it only works on their SSD's with the Z97 chipset and I don't have a 7 series board to test.
