Anyone know of any 2x4GB model that works? In the official list of supported memory there are only two models with 4GB and both are impossible to find after so many years of release.
You never said what the speed of the memory. That Cpu will only support 1066/1333. I understand that yes I'm using the that speed memory now. But when you add more memory it will do that.
Remember that almost everything goes through the CPU. The more memory you put in the more the CPU has to work to support. At what point does it stop. It looks like the limit is 6gb on that speed. Without OC CPU a little.
I'll tell what happen to me the other day. I had one brand of memory in this computer I'm building to sell. It booted fine and even got to the point where windows was installing. At that point windows gave me an error.
I tried another DVD drive. same thing. Tried another windows disk same thing. I change the memory to a different brand and everything was fine. Both brands were the same speed & timings.
Again you never said what the brands and speed were. What I'm saying is not all brands are the same. Even some times the same brand might give you problems. I use basically two brands Kingston and G-Skill.
