Help, New FX 8370E not booting up with ga-970a-ds3 motherboard
« on: February 15, 2015, 12:40:03 am »
Hi I bought the fx 8370e processor which gigabyte say works with the ga-970a-ds3 rev 1.0  motherboard I have with the f7d bios update. Well the bios is updated both on main and back up bios but my computer wont boot up with the fx 8370e?

I was wondering if there is any settings in bios I need to use to activate the cpu?

It would be nice to get some help as gigabyte aren't replying to my tickets I posted on their site. Im going to next week buy a 990fx motherboard if I don't get any help soon. Tried everythin g I can think of but still no boot is happening only with this cpu. my phenom x6 1055t works with it fine.

Please help if your from gigabyte etc or if you know of any thing I can do to get this cpu working.

Thanks from Jonathan

It might not be the board you could have a bad CPU. Plus this is a user to user forum too. Is there any way you can get somebody to test the CPU?

One other thing have you tried different memory? Maybe the CPU might not like the memory.

I have considered it might be a bad cpu but also considering the fact the f7d bios is still in beta, and also  im going to try a 990fx motherboard next week if I cant solve it as it is. if the cpu don't work with that motherboard there is only two options left, either the memory is bad for the cpu or its a faulty cpu.

The thing is that memory isn't on their list. Yes understand that most memory will work on motherboards. But I have been doing this for over 30yrs and I have never heard of that memory. That would be the first thing support would tell you too.
