GA-Z87X-UD4H stops at 97 after restart
« on: February 17, 2015, 08:10:56 pm »
Hi Guys,
I have a GA-Z78X-UD4H mother board running Windows 8.1
Sometimes, when I restart from "Windows Start" e.g. after new software install, the motherboard hangs at 97 on the Debug LED.
I then have to press the "Reset" button on the case and the computer starts without any more problems.
Any ideas?

Cheers

Hi there,

according to the Manual code 97 is: Console Output Devices connect (ex. Monitor is lighted) I'm not sure exactly what this means but someone else might have an idea about this. What monitor are you using? How is it connected to the PC? Does it have any USB ports? I had similar issues with my Dell monitor and I had to remove the USB Connection to solve it.

There is a newer F10 BIOS available over at TweakTown for your motherboard and it might be worthwhile trying that to see if it helps at all. http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/28441-gigabyte-latest-beta-bios.html

Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

Hi absic,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Monitor is a Asus ProArt PA238Q connected with DisplayPort cable and includes 2 USB ports.
Plus I have an old LG Flatron L1750SQ monitor connected with VGA cable.

I will disconnect the USB cable and see what happens and maybe update the BIOS although it's still in Beta.
