« on: March 04, 2015, 02:52:29 pm »
Hi
I need to replace the faulty Motherboard GA-81945GZME-RH on my desktop. I have located a motherboard GA-81945PM-RH but sockets are in different locations and I'm having a problem matching plugs & sockets especially the leads from front panel.
Regards

The two board are basically the same. The old board is in all in black and the new board is color coded. On both boards the connection are down on the bottom right corner.

Most board the connection are standard. Starting from the left top row: Power led / Power & speaker. Bottom row: HHD / Reset Your old board the 3 pin power led is to the left. On the new board the 3 pin Power led is just above those connection.

When plugging the plugs in, they always go the same way on most board. The letters on the plugs will face to the bottom on case.

Thanks for reply, one of the problems is on the GA-81945GZME-RH (the faulty original board the block of pins for connecting is a group of 20 whereas on the GA-81945PM-RH the block is 10 pins

Manual is available and the information you need is on page 23

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2304#manual

The replacement board is likely from an OEM system and the specific manual will be hard to find.
It is probable that the 10 pin header is the same as the top section of your first board and the bottom section (which has the speaker header) is somewhere else on the board or removed.

I'm sorry about that last post that when I first research it I click on the wrong link. Like I said before most boards layout of the pins are standard. The GA-81945PM-RH it is Label on the board front Panel.

Now the thing is the you will have to do some test on those 9 pins. That header is right next to the battery. Again it should be Starting from the left top row: Power led / Power. Bottom row: HHD / Reset. I have work on almost every brand of board that has been made.

Once you find that header look at it. Top row has 4 pins and the bottom row has 5. Count from left to right. # 3 & 4 pins should be the power. Same thing on the bottom row pins 3 & 4 should be reset.

Now I know sometimes that some MB companies do which them around but that is very rare. Like I said you will have to do some testing. Take a small screw driver and touch the pins to see which two turn on the computer.

Like I said that some companies switch stuff around. So they could have went from top pin to bottom pin too. What I'm saying the power could be like pins 3 top & bottom.
