New RAM problem.
« on: April 07, 2015, 07:43:42 am »
I have a problem with changing my RAM in motherboard GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3. The ram slots I used were Kingston KHX1600C9D3/2GX and I would like to upgrade my system so I installed new RAM  HX321C11SRK2/8 which are 2133Mhz. When I install the new the system does not boot. When I press the button to start the mobo leds are light up the fans start working and then reboot again. Do not load even BIOS. What do I have to do ? RAM are brand new. If I can't upgrade my system what's the point with that motherboard ?
Thanks!

I hate Gigabyte when it comes to memory. They mislead people on this. Yes it says that you can run 2133 memory. But the thing is it is all in the CPU you are running. You just can drop in memory and it will run.

You have to see what the CPU will support. Plus sometimes you have to over clock your CPU a little to get that memory to run. Most CPU will only support up to 1600 without any over clock.

So with all of this what CPU are you running? Here are some CPU to show you what memory they can run without OC.

I am sure about that. I think it is a RAM problem. In any way I will test with new RAM and give a clear answer. By the way Gigabyte's RAM list is very old and seems useless for me. They have to update the list. Thanks for answers
