Hello everyone!
I have an
AMD FX-8150 Black Edition processor, and a
GA-990FXA-UD3 rev 3.0 motherboard and I'm trying to overclock the processor from 3.6Ghz, to at least 4.6Ghz.
Overclocking steps- Disabled C1E, Boost, Cool&Quiet, C6
- Set load-line calibration to Extreme
- Set CPU Clock Ratio (multiplier) to 23 (4.6Ghz)
- Added +0.100V to vcore (1.45V total)
*Boots NORMALLY into windows*The problem There seems to be a huge vdroop problem (I guess that's what it's called). When the CPU is under stress, from Prime95 or a game like GTA V, the clock drops from 4.6Ghz to 1.4Ghz, and it keeps going back and forth.
Important: I watched many videos on youtube, and in most of them, the Max TDP of the CPU had increased, from 125W, to something like 225W (I guess) after the overclock. But in my processor, the Max TDP
does not change, it stays locked at 125W, even at a higher voltage and clock, and HWMonitor shows that the CPU max power usage was 116W.
Important²: My motherboard has no option to change the Max TDP in the BIOS.
The overclock is really essential, because my CPU can't keep up with the SLI I just installed. The GPUs won't go above 50% usage, and that really lags my gameplay.
I hope you can help me fix this problem...I appreciate your attention,
Regards!
