Hi,
I been having problems with my system. Lots of BSOD's, it went back to the manufacturer. They diagnosed a failure in the motherboard and replaced it.
Unfortunately, that hasn't cured the problems. I don't get as many BSOD's as I used to. It used to BSOD everytime I left the PC alone for more than 10 mins. Now it hangs if I leave it alone for 10 mins. If I hibernate the system, it restarts immediately, but then will continue to funtion, no hangs. If I put the system to sleep it hangs. I think it is a fair assumption that the same cause is my current problems and my earlier ones.
In my attempts to find the cause, I noticed that the installation of the Intel Management Engine Interface reports an aborted install with a Return code of 1603. I shall attach the log file.
I don't have any idea if the aborted install of the Intel Management Engine is the cause of the problems, but in the interests of completeness, I want to track it down and at least satisfy myself it is not involved in my main issue.
If somebody could enlighten me as to what the return code 1603 means I might at least be able to get it to install correctly and see if that makes a difference to my main problem.
Sincerely Ric Evans
P.S. It is rather dumb of your system to not allow *.log files to be uploaded as that is the output format of your installation applications.
