Z97-SOC cold boot issues

Z97-SOC cold boot issues

I have just upgraded to:
Z97-SOC flashed to F6
i7 4790K
2X4GB G.SKILL TRIDENT X

C: OCZ VERTEX 3

Ive built dozens of PC's but never had an issue like this. On a cold boot the system will shutdown after a few minutes. black screen shutdown and then into the blue "boot failure detected" screen. Ive tried many things to remedy the issue. Ive taken control of the volts and overclocked, and underclocked the CPU. Im using the XMP profile for the memory which runs at 2400mhz. Ive tried profile 1 and 2, only different being the one is 1T, the other 2T.

Ive upped the volts on the ram from 1.65 to 1.7 and yet everyday when I get home, boot this up, get stuck in "click" mechanical drive dies and we are back to "BOOT FAILURE DETECTED". After this one shutdown I can game for hours without issue.

My system is on a custom loop wuth an EK supreme HF cooling the CPU and venting to a Thermochill PA140.3. Heat isnt the issue. But temps load to about 60c (I think Intel were having a laugh calling it "Devils Canyon").

The issue is the EXACT same as reported here: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?topic=15124.0

Hopefully this is a resolveable issue, as Im getting close to arranging an RMA.

Kind regards,
Nige

You need to OC you CPU a little not the memory. That is the problem. The volts on the memory should be at what the spec are for the memory. Memory controller is in the CPU. That CPU will only support up to 1600 memory without OC.

Support for DDR3 3300(O.C.) / 3200(O.C.) / 3100(O.C.) / 3000(O.C.) / 2933(O.C.) / 2800(O.C.) / 2666(O.C.) / 2600(O.C.) / 2500(O.C.) / 2400(O.C.) / 2200(O.C.) / 2133(O.C.) / 2000(O.C.) / 1866(O.C.) / 1800(O.C.) / 1600 / 1333 MHz memory modules
X299X Aorus Master, i9-9940x-3.30Ghz, 64gb G-Skill DDR4-2400, MSI RTX-3070 8GB, Cooler Master case, Thermal-take PSU 850w, 1-M2-NMVe SSD-512gb, 3-Pny 1TB SSD, 2-WD Raptors 1TB, Win 10 pro 64bit, Asus 35" 144Mhz Monitor.

Thanks for the reply.

Ive already upped the memory on the CPU. I upped it on the memory as a guy on another forum had a similiar issue and fixed it by upping his memory voltage.

Im at 4.6Ghz @ 1.28v which is 11 hours prime95 small FFT stable.
Heres a volts screenshot:

The issues STILL persists as the first time I was replying to you the system once again hard shutdown and gave me the "boot failure detected" screen.

Regards,
Nige
