H81M-DS2 SATA Empty

H81M-DS2 SATA Empty
« on: August 03, 2015, 02:14:25 pm »
Hi I am building a new PC, I have put in the H81M-DS2 Motherboard with two new HDD's one a seagate Barracuda and one a WD Caviar Blue. Neither are being recognised by the BIOS as connected. All SATA Ports other than the optical drive are stating an empty status. Any ideas? I cant seem to Q flash as the file size for the only BIOS updates I can seem to find are too large and so unrecognised. I am currently on Bios F1.

Thanks

What ports do you have the drives plug into? They should be in the white ports. Go to BIOS Features then down to Hard Drive BBS Priorities. In there the hard drives should be in there.

If not than something isn't connected right. If your DVD drive is showing up. Then check all the connection to make sure they all work using the DVD drive.
