Install Windows 8.1 in UEFI mode from USB3.0, how to do it?

Hi,

Sorry for my poor english, I'm spanish speaker.

I want install Windows 8.1 in UEFI mode from USB3.0. I'm a user of Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI with a intel celeron processor.

¿How to configure the BIOS for boot USB3 stick in UEFI mode? When I boot my Windows8-Pendrive always boots in BIOS mode, not in UEFI mode.

Is it necessary activate CSM module ? what configuration is right to do it this? ¿are all USB2 and 3 ports valid for boot?

Is it necessary USB legacy option to activate?

I've created USB-stick of Windows8 with a official tool of windows 7. I suppose that this is not a problem for boot in UEFI mode.

Thank you.
Kind regards

As far as I know only USB2 are activate. The CSM is set enabled by default.

When you boot the USB make it is plug and set it to the first one in Hard Drive BBS Priorities.

I think you should be able to set that to USB UEFI boot. Then in your first boot option make sure it is the first one too.

Make sure you have it set to windows 8 in the and not the other OS setting.

Boot Mode Selection set to UEFI too.

I don't use USB drive to load windows. I have always used a DVD or CD. Yes windows 7 will load UEFI. It really isn't made for windows 7 but it will work.
