Cannot boot p55-usb3 - same problem as another poster - HELP!

When I turn the system on, the fan spins up, then spins down, then spins up, then down - over and over.  But the system never boots.

I've removed the CMOS battery and set the jumper to clear it as well - left the system sit for 30+ minutes unplugged - and still the same problem.

Right now I have disconnected everything except for the power supply.  I've removed the ram, disconnected all drives, and I'm only supplying power to the MB - but still the same issue.

I have checked and I have both of the appropriate power connectors connected to the MB and I have tested this power supply in another system and it works fine.

Any suggesstions??

Have you tried testing the system outside of the case?
