As the title says, I'm running a GA-990FXA-UD3 Revision 4. I currently have it paired up with an FX 6300. Quite happy with the performance so far.
However, I'm not sure how to discern temperature readings in my monitoring programs. There seem to be 3 shared readings between the two programs that are specifically monitoring motherboard sensors. Along with, of course, GPU and the CPU itself. The CPU is listed as "Core" in Speedfan, and it matches the reading listed under my processor in HWMonitor.
The other three readings are as follows:
HWM: SpeedFan:
System Temp1 - 32C
CPU Temp2 - 39C
TMPIN2 Temp3 - 20C
The labels seems a little odd. I'm not sure why the motherboard would be displaying a CPU temp of 39C when the reading for the processor itself is around 20C at idle. Unless it's normal for what I'm assuming is the socket to be roughly 20C hotter than the chip's own sensor?
Clarification would be appreciated. Also, are there any temperature limits for these components that I may wish to avoid?
Thanks.
