Gigabyte B75M-D3H rev 1.1 battery replacement

Hi All,
My first post on the Forum.
The onboard 3v Lithium "button" battery is down to 1.6v and even though it is not creating problems yet I will be much happier replacing it with a new cell.
My query is, while replacing it is very easy I am concerned that BIOS or other settings may be lost.
Q1  Is this the case or are my fears unfounded.
Q2  If there is a special procedure to follow to prevent loss of settings what is it.
Q3  If there is no way to prevent loss of settings what is the method of restoring them after the new battery is in place.
 
I hope that those much more knowledgable than I will not deem my queries as stupid.

P.S. I phoned Aria computers who supplied the PC and was told that they are unable to answer any technical questions of this type!!! Lesson learnt.

If it has a place in bios to save profile then save it. replace battery then load that profile. If it doesn't have that then if you do it really fast you probably wont lose settings but if you do just go thru bios before replacing it and write down settings you have changed then go back into bios and change those settings.

A lot of time by removing battery you reset bios and that is why a lot of manufactures make a place in bios to save profiles
