Gigabyte Z97X Code A6

Desperate for some help please!

I've just completed a brand new build using the Gigabyte Z97X Gaming G1 (Black Edition) motherboard.

I'm continually seeing the code A6 on the debug digital meter. I have uninstalled the SSD I was going to use as my main Windows Boot Drive and the CD/DVD Writer. I also uninstalled the MSI R9 390 GPU card. Still I get the error code A6. What's causing this problem?

I then uninstalled the 2 sticks of Corsair Vengeance RAM, 16Gb (2x8)Gb) DDR3/1066, trying one stick only in each slot and then two sticks and swapping around again, still the error code of A6. The mobo power-on switch is only amber and not the usual red signifying fully on.

Here's the thing though,..I tried with no RAM at all. I now have nothing connected to the motherboard. Just the PSU 24 pin to mobo and of course the 8 pin power cable. No more error A6 BUT,..I now get code 02 (or is it 20 depending on your visual orientation). Not only that, but the mobo stops and starts every few seconds causing the CPU fan to stop momentarily then kicks in again. It cycles through this resting on code 02 (or 20). These numbers are not listed in the manual.

Put a RAM stick back in and code 02/20 has gone but we are back to code A6 but it doesn't randomly stop/start momentarily as before.

Is this A6 code the main cause of me not being able to boot from the SSD when everything is installed and connected?

Power Supply is an Enermax Platimax 1500Watt. CPU Intel I5 4690K. All parts for this build are brand new, all purchased within the last couple of weeks.

I'd start by clearing the CMOS.  Also, what kind of keyboard and mouse are you using? 

Have you upgraded or flashed your BIOS?  Are you able to enter BIOS at all?  Or does the system just hang with code A6 during POST and keyboard is unresponsive?

What controller/ports are you connecting devices to, and which device is connected to what port/controller, please?

How do you have your drives connect to the Intel or Marvell? They should be connected to the Intel.

That's what was wrong. I only have the one drive (SSD), and I plugged it into the wrong Driver port. As soon as I changed it and re-booted, the Gigabyte logo came up briefly and suddenly I saw the words 'getting Ready.' my SSD had finally Booted and my Windows was finally on there.

However, I don't get any POST or beeps. My PC Case doesn't have a speaker wire to connect to the board. Is there a speaker on the mobo itself? Mind you, I haven't connected up all the other little wires yet for the front panel like HDD, Pled, e.t.c. but I definitely do not have a speaker wire.

Anyway, the debug code is no longer A6 but even though I can finally Boot into Windows and everything seems fine and stable for the couple of hours I left it all running, the code seems to either settle on 04 or AO. What should the letters/numbers be when everything is in good working order?
