X99M Gaming 5 USB and random restarts
« on: December 20, 2015, 05:34:38 am »
Hi there,
Simple question. Can I fix it? My mouse is freezing and keyboard. PC randomly restarts. I regret that I didn't read reviews...
I also made prt scr of blue screen logs.
If I can't fix it I have to sell it/ demand refund or throw it to garbage. I need stable PC.

So I have 5820k, 4x4gb corsair, rm650,  corsair air 240 case, wibdows 10 64bit, gigabyte 7950, 4 screens connected to pc. I use this pc to trade on the market and there is no specific time when it restarts. It just happens... As you can see one restart was 2 weeks ago and another one happened 2 days ago twice. I have to fix it today otherwise i need new mobo.

I also realized that motherboard's display doesnt show cpu's temperature. I see "AA"

Is this in the bios? It will tell you in the bios. What cooler are you using? The memory what is the speed and have you tried to run just 2 sticks or even one. On the screen shoots I can't really read it.

No, it's not in the bios. It's on motherboard's display. It either shows 73*C or AA. I checked ram modules one by one and everything worked just fine.
I have 5820k, corsair h100i gtx, 4x4 ddr4 corsair 2400mhz, corsair rm650, gigabyte 7950. Please download screenshots or I can make new one if you need.

If you getting 73c that is way to hot. You should be getting at Idle 30c. Plus it will show in the bios too. If this is true than CPU is running at 164f. In the bios on the M.I.T. screen you will see the temp.

If you can just copy and paste what it is say in the blue screen reader. I run 2400 memory in both of my X99 boards. Temp looks good you tested the memory. Now what are you using for SSD or HHD's ?

Every one of those error show faulty ram. Yes it might have past the test. I wasn't going to go to the memory till I could read the error. But we have see corsair having problems on Gigabyte boards.

Plus it could be the slots in the board too. But one other thing is your memory isn't on their list either.

Well, I checked yesterday every single module in different slots. It worked. How can I check ram?

I also don't have ram supported by evga z77 ftw and it works perfectly.

Two different makers. I have a X99 Gigabyte & X99 Evga. I really like the Evga. I have a Gigabyte Z170 and I was fighting with the memory. Ended up going with what the CPU supports 2133 every thing works great now.

Before that double boots and boot up memory errors. I was trying to run 2400 memory. Every code error on your blue screen reports points to memory. Yes I understand what you are saying about memory it test great. You trying to run it with the XMP. Try running at default setting and see what happens unless you tried that already.

I have orange led next to ram on I can't find anything about this led in manual.

I found what errors mean. Those are on windows 10
72 - pch devices initialization
73- pch dxe initialization ( pch module specific )
AA Reserved

FE ( on windows 7 ) - Reserved

I have strange voltages in hwmonitor but normal in aida. I checked on corsair and bequiet psu.
I also did memtest and no errors were found.
