Radeon R9 380 4GB issue
« on: December 21, 2015, 06:23:07 pm »
Hi guys,
I have a strange issue.
I just bought a Gigabyte Radeon R9 380 4GB PCIe3 video card and it seemed to work well. When I use my pc for basic things like browsing there is no problem (I'm using it with the max resolution 1920x1080) but when I start a game then my pc just shut down... like when the electricity goes off.
It looks like a power issue, but I'm not sure. I bought today another power supply, it's a 750W one (I have had only a 650W power supply before) and when I started the game it looked okay then I turned a few more settings for maximum and the power supply has "exploded".. just died.
This website (http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator) shows that I should have enough power (450W should be enough).
Any suggestions?

My hardwares:
Gigabyte Radeon R9 380 4GB PCIe3.0  VGA
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 PCIe2.0     Motherboard
2x 8GB DDR3 RAM
1 Winchester
1 DVD RW
AMD FX-6100  3,8 GH
Network card
3 Fans
and currently 650W

did you connect the 8pin power cable to the videocard?
