Hi, i have some troubles trying to find a soundcard in my country (im from mexico) with optical support so i can connect my headset. But in every store that i ask they say that people dont buy more soundcards cause motherboards can give you a decent quallity too. So i tried to buy one online with the optical support not all stores ship to mexico and the shipping cost are sometimes a little bit high and the shipping time usually takes more than a month. Finally i found one on amazon that ships to mexico http://www.amazon.com/Blaster-Performance-Headphone-For...
but then i asked in my local store for a motherboard with optical support and i74790 support and they recommend me this http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=...
The price is basically the same between the soundcard and the motherboard. I know that probably you get better audio with the soundcard, but this motherboard has more features, also, in the motherboard page it says that can support 7.1 surround and the soundboard says 5.1, so right know idont know what is a better investment.
Thank you

Some people still like sound cards. But myself I haven't used a sound card in ten years. I use a USB/wireless headset Logitech G930. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Gaming-Headset-Surround/dp/B003VANOFY

It works great and it has Dolby headphone 7.1 surround sound too. So you should really be fine with the motherboard. Plus one other thing is that on the board it will have a connection to support front panel headset & mic.
