GA-x58a-ud7: boot sequence problem

Good old GA-x58a-ud7, bios FD:
Existing setup with OCZ revodrive on pcie-port,
and normal hdd connected to mobo standard sata port.
Could always the change boot-sequence in bios,
either the revodrive, or the hdd, as first boot device.
However, after adding pcie-card (marvell sata controller) and
connecting the hdd to this device,  it will ALWAYS boot from the revodrive,
even if the hdd is selected as first boot device in bios. 
During boot, the revodrive is flashed as Scsi 0 and the the hdd as Scsi 1.
Seems that the Scsi 0 always will be first boot device, ignoring setup in bios.
I must manually (tapping F12) go into boot-selection during boot to select the
hdd if I want boot from this one.  (this selection window show the revodrive on top)
Any fix for this problem ??

"Hard Disk Boot Priority" It should be in Advanced BIOS Features. Look in there because the add-on card is always the first one. You can change it to boot from the HHD first instead of the add-on card.

Sorry, I must have explained the case rather badly.  You see, I HAVE changed the boot order
under advanced in bios setup.  Put the hdd on top.  But it does not seem to influence
the actual boot order, it still boots the from the Revodrive.  I can only get it to boot from
the hdd if I EACH time (via F12) select the hdd there.  Funny, the booting seem to ignore
completly whats set up under advanced for boot order.  ?

I don't know if this will help, have look at this:

Init Display First
Specifies the first initiation of the monitor display from the installed PCI graphics card or
PCI Express graphics card.
PCI Sets the PCI graphics card as the first display. (Default)
PEG Sets PCI Express graphics card on the first PCI Express x16 slot (PCIEX16_1)
as the first display.
PEG2 Sets PCI Express graphics card on the second PCI Express x16 slot (PCIEX16_2)
as the first display.
PEG3 Sets PCI Express graphics card on the PCI Express x8 slot (PCIEX8_1) as the
first display.
PEG4 Sets PCI Express graphics card on the PCI Express x4 slot (PCIEX4_1) as
the first display.

Why did you add the add-on card for more drives or faster sata ports. Because your on-board Marvell port are 6 gb.

Thanks for advise. Checked the "init display first".
It shows pciex16_1
As to the Marvel port:
Have not been satisfied with the Marvel 9128 on the mobo.
Not much better than the Gigabyte port.
So I read that the improved Marvel 9235 would be much better.
Thats why I installed the pcie-card with the marvel 9235.
Stil have not solved the boot sequence problem.
Anything else I should try ?

Yes, one drive win 7, one drive win 8.  For longer periods I work on projects on the win 7,
but in other periods I prefer the win 8.  So I really want to change the boot-order on a
semi-fixed basis in the bios. Otherwise it is very clumsy to be forced to tap F12 at each boot
to select bootorder every time.  Must be some problem in the bios,  bootorder not taken into account due to my new scsi-card from iocrest with the marvell controller ?

SOLVED:
I have always had this sequence in bios bootorder:
1. bootable ad-in card
2. scsi0 silstripe  (the revodrive)
3. scsi1 hdd xxxxxx
And I used to switch 2 and 3, depending on what drive I wanted to boot.
But after installing the iocrest marvell sata card,  it always booted the silstripe (revo)
even if it was placed as no 3 (hdd as no 2).
Now I suddenly thought, what is this "bootable ad-in card" ?
Could now this card be interpreted as the revodrive ?
And YES, putting the bootable ad-in card as no 3, with the revo and hdd as
no 1 and 2, problem SOLVED !!!  I ca now switch 1 and 2, to 2 and 1, and
all is fine !  Maybe I should have had the bootable card at the bottom all the time,
but it was ignored as boot-medium unitil the new sata controller card was installed.

Here is something to think about. When you install the OS. You always install the oldest first. Then you install the newest one last. It will make a bot manager. The only thing about this is if you want to remove one of the OS drives and only use one OS.

You might have to jump through hoop to do it. My brother and I work on a computer that was setup that way. It took us hours to get is to work on booting 1 OS. I have a computer setup with windows 7 & 10 with the Boot manager. I have another computer setup the same way but I use the f12. I really like the F12 vs the boot manager.

Thanks for sound advice.  In my old rig with mentioned mobo, 1 ssd and 3 hdds,  I have installed switches on the power cord to the hdds.  The 3 hdds are xp (for old times sake),
w7 and w8.  I always cut the power to 2 of the others while booting the one i want.
That way I have "3 pcs in one cabinet!!".  Well, rather special, but i like it.
