i have 2 pcs hooked up ta a kvm and i have just upgraded one of them and now its all gone to pot.
it seems my problem is down to usb ports, now the pc thats still working fine has a gigabye motherboard in it and the usb ports are live when shut down, so were the usb ports on the old motherboard i have replaced.
now the new motherboards usb ports are not live when shutdown and when turned on its not picked up by the kvm as it is already looking at the other pc because of the live ports and its making life hell.
so i have chucked in the towel and decided to get another motherboard with the live usb ports because i know it will solve the problem, i need a mini itx motherboard for the i7 6700k and the GA-Z170N-Gaming 5 seems to fit the bill.
can anyone confirm this motherboard has power from the usb ports when shutdown.
thank you for any input.
