970 UDSP CPU FAN PROBLEM
« on: February 14, 2016, 04:11:36 am »
Hi everybody, i am having problems with the cpu fan's connector of the motherboard, my configuration is :
amd fx 8320
2x4gb kingston hyper fury
2x4gb crucial ballistic sport
radeon r7 nitro 4gb

when i connect the cooler (arctic v7 pro 2) to the cpu_fan's connector, it didn't work; but if i connects it to the sys _fan_ 1, it works well.
i tried with the amd cooler that was in the box with the processor, and it works with the sys_fan_1 but no with the cpu_fan
Please help me.
thank you so much and sorry for my bad english

get a new system board or use another fan header is the only option you got

the easy tune gives me the cpu temperature, is this number correct? or it depends if the CPU FAN is coneccted?

The CPU temperature reading should be correct anyway

Perhaps not enuf air through your case? - temps reported in the bios same?
CPU heatsink mounted correctly?

I see your CPU fan is only 92mm you should go 120mm depending on your location (Alaska/Africa?/ room temp)
Inside the case feels like an oven? get better airflow installed .. see a literate local computer guy for help.

in the bios the temp is :79ºC for the 8 processors.
i am in argentina and the temp of my room is very hight, is true, but the case has 3 140 mm fan and 2 120 mm fan, with the arctic v7.
i'll look the heatsink and the thermal compound
thank you men

Look point is not really number of fans installed but evenly mounted blowers (usually front/side) and suckers (back/top) hence air is moving through the case. More importantly the input air is extracted by at least same amount of fans.

Generally, in a good ventilated case, the idle CPU is no more than ~5-10C celsius above room temp - in my case here CPU is 37C while room is 30C right now. Keep this as a rule in mind.

i did what you said, i opened the case and clear the air flow by moving all the wire to the side . one fan was in the wrong way so i put it again.
i change the thermal paste of the processor and of the video card. i take the case to another room, which is colder, and the temperature decreases considerably
thank you so much
but i think that if the cpu fan connector is running well, the temperature would be lower

Not sure what your cpu fan rpms/speed actually is, where it is plugged in now, but I guess constant full speed (?) hence nothing more your small cpu fan can do. You may be able to drop temp a little more by leaving the cover off.

The CPU fan header is just speed controlled hence more silent (less rpm) under ambient temperatures - it won't give you more rpms!

hi men, i got it. here is some pics about the temps and the rpm. i have 5 fans, the cpu fan (on sys fan 1) and the video card fans, but i can see the speed only of 2 of the fans and the video card's fan. you know why?
realice that i was only downloading games from internet, is a normal temperature?

sort of, yes!
I see your CPU load temperature is 65C which is a bit on the high side - max safe temp for your CPU is 62C
