GIGABYTE X58 UD7 Overclocking with i7 930 D0
« on: April 09, 2010, 02:20:51 pm »
Hi.
Just seeking some help from people who are really familiar with this board and its bios please.

My current hardware are:
Gigabyte x58 UD7 (F6 Bios updated)
Core i7 930 d0
Corsair Dominator GT 2000MHz
Prolimatech Megashadow w/ Push-Pull , MX-3
Corsair 800D
X-Fi titanium F4t3lity Pro
8800GT (Till my GTX 480 Arrives)
2x WD Black SATA 6GBPS
1X Corsair X128 SSD
1X Velociraptor 300GB.

I was wondering what are the settings i should use to get:

1st option. 2000MHz on the memory and something from 3.6 - 3.8Ghz on the cpu

2nd option. Run CPU @ 4GHz and 1866MHz+ memory.

The only stable settings i found using the F6 Bios is:

cpu = Auto (otherwise system is unstable at 1.35)
cpu pll = 1.88
qpi = 1.39
dram = 1.64
qpi mhz = 180
Cpu multiplier = x 22

.....

Anyone  who really knows its way around this motherboard and can give me some help to get those 2 options as i couldnt get past the 180qpi stable i would appreciate it a lot!

Thank you ..

Still no answer from anyone at GB support.

Anyways, on my next build GB will be off my chart list.
thanks.

I have a pretty similar system, 930 UD7 OCZ 1600.  Im running 4.2 24/7 rock solid.  You can try my settings see if it works for you.  It should give you a head start and fine tune and tweak base on them.  Just a reminder, be cautious with qpi/vtt and vdimm.  Don't exceed 1.375 qpi/vtt and 1.66 vdimm.

My rams can run pretty tight at just 1.6, you may want to losen your rams to CL8 or even 9 if it doesn't boot.  Also some 930 need more voltage, if it doesn't do it with 1.35, don't be afraid to try 1.38.  Just make sure your temps are ok, keep it under 80c on LinX then you should be ok.

Still no luck with your settings, more voltages and the memory multiplier at 10.
I dont even wanna try 1600MHz of memory as it would have been a total waste of money for the memory i spent ;/

To Trader88:

THANK YOU for all you did for posting your BIOS. I have a very similar setup. Go here and watch my vids to see my unit. The only difference is I'm running Corsair Dominator 12GB (w/fan kit). I kept my RAM settings the same bumped up the voltage a bit and now (thankfully) everything is working great at 4.2GHz. Also, since I'm NOW using the Indigo Xtreme ETI that has lowed my Celsius temps by OVER 6C !!! Watch the vids so you know what I'm talking about. Again, thanks for your BIOS post here !!!  ;D

It's the first video you see entitled: "FULL REVIEW: Indigo Xtreme - The NEW Thermal Compound KING !!!"

This one (toward the end of the video - but watch the whole thing so you know WHY we built our Mac Hak Pro using the Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 Mobo) show our tower:

Enjoy !!! Post your feedback and Subscribe to our channel because I'm going to do a FULL review of our Mac Hak Pro !!! Later...

Hi b0ss

a little late ... but i found you page because i have nearly the same hardware I7 950 / OCZ 12 GB but with 1500 / and a GTX470 SOC. So we should do a test ...
Thanks for the settings - my system runs at 4.0 but not more - because i reach the 85 degres. Thats to much i think. I sthere any trick i can use to bring the temperature down ?

bets regards

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

You haven't given us much to go on as far as yopur case and cooling is concerned but maybe you could increase the cooling in the case or make it more efficient anyway. You could also try watercooling your system as well.

At the momnet i use this hardware:

Board: Gigabyte X58A-UD7 rev. 2.0 (Bios: FD)
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 950
Grafikkarte: Gigabyte GTX470 SOC
Memory: OCZ Reaper 1600 LV 12GB (CZ3RPR1600C8ULV12GK)
PSU: Enermax EMG800EWT 800 Watt
Tastatur: Logitech Dinovo Edge
Maus: Logitech MX Revolution
HardDisk1: OCZ Vertex 2 (240 GB) (Intel® ICH10)
HardDisk2: WD RTE4 1 TB im RAID 1 am (Intel® ICH10)
HardDisk3: WD RTE4 1 TB im RAID 1 am (Intel® ICH10)
Cooling CPU: Alpenföhn Matterhorn
Cooling: 3 x Alpenföhn 140 / 3 x Alpenföhn 120 / 1 x Coolermaster 140 über NZXT Sentry LXE
 System: Windows 7 (64bit) fully patched.

and here are my Bios Setting which are working fin - but the temperature is definitly too hight.
If i use LinX i get 85 degres after some time at a maxium. My case fans are at 75 / 80 percent.

CPU Clock = 20
QPI Clock Ration = 36
UCore = x16
BCLK = 200
XMP = Disabled
MEM SPD = 8.0
CAS = 8
tRCD = 8
tRP = 8
tRAS = 24
tRFC = 88 bei Auto = 128 = Bluescreen
CMD= 1T
Load-Line-Calibration = Level 1
CPU Vcore = normal
DVID = +0.1625 V
QPI/Vtt = 1.275 V
DRAM Voltage = 1.600V

Can you help me with that ?
