Z170X-Gaming 5 can't display integrated graphics
« on: June 12, 2016, 08:01:15 pm »
With an Intel i5-6600k with integrated graphics, the initial boot did not display on my monitor (HDMI to DVI cable).    After putting in a graphics card and connecting it to the monitor, I was able to see the display.   Then I installed Windows 8.1 Pro and flashed the BIOS to version F5, and everything seemed to working ok.   Then after going into the BIOS, I changed the peripheral display from PCI-E to IVGD, thinking that would fix the integrated graphics issue.   After saving and exit from the BIOS, after booting I now I cannot see the display with either the graphics card or integrated graphics connected to the monitor.   Any ideas on how to get the display working now?

You can remove the motherboard battery for a few minutes. That will reset your bios settings to default.
Make sure to power off the pc and disconnect the power cord from the psu.

Thanks, that worked.   Now I can get the display from the graphics card again, but I cannot get it to display using the integrated graphics, with or without the card installed.   I downloaded the latest Intel graphics drivers from Gigabyte, but when I tried to install them a dialog said that "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software".   So how do I get the Intel integrated graphics to display on the monitor?

Hello,

With the GFX card installed enter the BIOS.
Go to Chipset
Make sure the Internal Graphics option = enabled
Keep using your GFX card and do the following

When you get into Windows it might detect the Intel GFX, see what happens.
Try to install the driver.

If successful in device manager you should see 2 adapters listed under Display devices.
Intel HD530...
Your GFX card...

If you get to this stage, it means the integrated GFX is working.
Still pops up with the error message, no Intel display found = something wrong.
Make sure XMP is disabled.

Assuming the above worked, go for a HDMI to HDMI cable instead.
My PC is evolving

Thanks, this worked with an HDMI to HDMI cable.   Have not got it to work with HDMI to DVI.

Thanks, this worked with an HDMI to HDMI cable.   Have not got it to work with HDMI to DVI.

This has to do with the way the signal is being processed or interpreted through the adapters.  Color and picture quality will be best using a single type of connection without adapters.
