GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X Gaming 7
i7 6700k
2x8gb 3400 ddr4 tridents ram
750w psu

only these components hooked up, 5 second power cycles.

I have read that gigabyte motherboards are having issues with ram compatibility, is that possibly my issue?

I have disconnected everything down to barebones and running on top of box came in, still power cycle.

Hello,

If I was a robot I would say based on the input it doesn't work because you have failed to install a heat sink / CPU cooler.
:) Seen it before too but you do have one? (would shutdown and stay off so I believe you do)

Is the PSU new, asking as some really old ones had issues with the low power states on the Intel processors going back to the Haswell generation.

Without the RAM installed does the board actually remain on and display an error code?
