No Bios write prodection on motherboard

I own g31m-es2l. I just wonder why there is no Bios protection on bord - for ex. Bios Write Protection or a jumper cap. This option would protect BIOS from viruses. There have been viruses that may affect BIOS and make your MB not bootable. Why there is not such protection? Is there any way to protect BIOS from being infected from viruses?

I know there is DualBios function, but it works afterwards. It doesn't prevent from being infected.

I personally have not seen this feature widely implemented since UEFI became mainstream.  Laptops seem to employ it more than desktop boards these days. 

If you are truly looking to enhance protection, you ca set an administrator password.  Using Secure Boot also adds another layer of protection.  (Not 100%) just another layer.  You are correct the Dual BIOS feature does not prevent the attack, but does offer recovery in the majority of cases.
