Low microphone volume on Gigabyte z170x gaming3

Low microphone volume on Gigabyte z170x gaming3
« on: September 18, 2016, 02:03:16 pm »
My microphone volume is very low on both front and rear panel. Does anyone know how to fix this? Also does this motherboard support conference mode on realtek audio manager? I can't find it.

Things I have already tried which all of them don't work at all:
- Boost mic volume and adjust mic volume to 100%
- change format quality

PS. My friend fix this problem by use conference mode on realtek audio manager.

Hi,
It would be helpful if you could give us more background about your system.

New or existing build?
OS?
Have you changed anything recently?
It worked previous, or it never worked?
Are you sure the mic works.  (tested elsewhere)?

During troubleshooting, I would suggest using the pink connector on the rear audio panel.  There are several places (too many) actually to adjust the input and output volume of audio devices these days.  Windows Sound Properties, the sound chips own Control Panel, etc.  Unless there is a problem with the hardware or faulty mic, this behavior is often caused by a conflicting setting on one of the audio properties configuration.  Equally important is the FP Audio  connector to the header on the MB and selecting the correct correct type of audio AC'97 or HD audio in BIOS depending on what your case supports.  Here are some general places to look:

Z390 AORUS PRO (F10) \850w, 9900K, 32GB GSkill TriZ RGB - 16-18-18-38, RTX 3080Ti FTW3 Ultra, 960 Pro_m.2, W11
Z370-HD3P (F5) \750w, 8350K, 8GB LPX 3200 - 16-18-18-38, GTX 970 FTW SC, Intel SSD, 2TB RAID1, W11

I am using Windows10 with Gigabyte z170x gaming3. I didn't modify any setting except adjust sound volume for mic to 100 and boost for 30 dB. My mic works fine if I put it really close to my mouth (less than 5 cm). In addition, I also faceing this problem for other mics too. For connector and bios setting, I am busy right now. If I have time, I will check it. But I think it's possible to fix it without touching those things.
Thanks for replying me. Sorry for my bad English.
