SIV Update no longer reads temps or fan speeds

SIV Update no longer reads temps or fan speeds
« on: February 09, 2017, 06:13:15 pm »
SIV v.1.16.0525 update no longer reads my fan speeds or temps when I launch the Hardware Monitor.  Win10 Anniversery, Z170x v1.0 motherboard with F8 bios, Intel I5 6600K.  Nothing else has changed on my system except SIV.  The previous version worked perfectly.

Hi,
I can't help you but I can share my experience. I suggest to you to avoid Gigabyte SIV. I've installed all versions and each one have something that doesn't work.
I've unistalled any Gigabyte stuff on my PC. Instead you can use HWinfo64 for monitoring. To manage fans I suggest to you to use BIOS settings. If you need to manage fans into Windows enviroment you can use Argus Monitor (it is not free but you can try it for 30 days). With this software any fan can work using different temp sensor as a source. SpeedFan may be an alternative but it do not support Gigabyte Z170 actually.

Alternately, you can use system restore and revert your system to a date and time when the version of SIV you had installed worked.  I use AppCenter and SIV..  but the versions I use are the ones that shipped on my MB CD.  Never upgraded.  These are the only two Apps I use from Gigabyte.  The others (like all MB manufacturers) are mostly fluff you don't need.
