5 beeps on GA-Z170-Gaming K3-EU
« on: March 28, 2017, 12:00:30 pm »
Hello everyone,
I bought a GA-Z170-Gaming K3-EU card with an Intel I5 processor 7600 K and CMK8GX4M2B3200C16 Corsair Vengeance LPX memories (2 x 8 GB 3400 MHz) .
When i try to turn on the PC,  the fans run, the LEDs on MB light up but on the monitor does not show anything. (Dvi ouput from motherboard vga) .
no other  as a hard disk or Graphic  card is installed....
Well i remove the memory and restart ... 5 beeps and turns off everything. (  :-[ )
I also tried to replace the memories with only single module of 8Gb at 2133 MHz but nothing,  same problem.
I check that the  power cables are correctly inserted and i measured a +12 V from yellow cable with a  tester.

it was never happened to someone the same thing?

if possible that the CPU is faulty  or rather the motherboard ?

perhaps too many questions but I am going crazy.....

excuse for my bad , but very bad english....

What is your mobo bios release?
If you have an old bios you need a Skylake processor to update.

Unusual Reason for 5 Beeps
« Reply #5 on: March 23, 2018, 09:51:28 pm »
Had the 5 beeps with my new Gigabyte Z370XP SLI board.  Strangely enough, for me it was happening when I was using a DisplayPort cable with my discrete graphics card (Gigabyte GTX 780 WindForce) and my monitor was turned off.  I switched to an HDMI cable, and no more beeps even when the monitor is off.  Don't you wish all problems had a solution this simple???  I may have had the same problem with my ASRock Z87 Extreme motherboard, but since it was intermittent, I didn't suspect the connection issue.  However, I was able to get rid of the beeps by turning on CSM (Compatibility Support Module) in the BIOS.

For some situations, you may just want to reset the BIOS by using the "Clear CMOS Jumper" with the computer unplugged.
