Your thoughts on my new gaming PC please...
« on: April 03, 2017, 11:14:08 am »
Hello everyone.

I wanna make a new PC, i already have these parts:

GIGABYTE B150M-HD3-DDR3
Intel i5-6402P (LGA1151)
CORSAIR Vengeance 2x4GB (8 total) DDR3

Is this system good so far ? It will be a gaming pc.

Your thoughts on what to add next? Graphic card , Power , etc...

Without a budget, its difficult to make anything more than a broad generalization.

For gaming, I'd go with a Z or X series chipset, 16GB of RAM and as much video card as I could afford.  In truth your MB and CPU will not likely be the limiting factor.  Amount of emory and the GPU are going to play the biggest factors in over all performance.
Z390 AORUS PRO (F10) \850w, 9900K, 32GB GSkill TriZ RGB - 16-18-18-38, RTX 3080Ti FTW3 Ultra, 960 Pro_m.2, W11
Z370-HD3P (F5) \750w, 8350K, 8GB LPX 3200 - 16-18-18-38, GTX 970 FTW SC, Intel SSD, 2TB RAID1, W11
Z97X-UD5H \850w, 4790K, 32GB Vengeance, RTX 2080 FTW

Then i'll think i'll change my current MB with H110M-S2PV (H110/1151/DDR4) probably.

I cannot afford too much budget for extreme performance. I'll probably stay with this CPU and i will change the MB, RAM (16 DDR4 or 8 DDR4) and GPU 4GB or 2GB DDR3 .

As I said, memory and GPU will be the bottlenecks regarding performance.  Fame rates and detail will drop as resolution increases.  If you are only going to run at 1920x1080 you'll get decent performance. 16GBs ram and GForce 600 series or higher.

@Jesua

What country you from. If you are here in the USA see if you can get to a Micro Center. They do MB/CPU combos. If you buy both you will get a $30 discount. I just got a i5-7600K & GA-Z270XP-SLI for $315.
X299X Aorus Master, i9-9940x-3.30Ghz, 64gb G-Skill DDR4-2400, MSI RTX-3070 8GB, Cooler Master case, Thermal-take PSU 850w, 1-M2-NMVe SSD-512gb, 3-Pny 1TB SSD, 2-WD Raptors 1TB, Win 10 pro 64bit, Asus 35" 144Mhz Monitor.

For about $15 US more you can get a faster card:

http://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=03G-P4-6367-KR

Now comes the EVGA vs. MSI dilemma   :) :)   Both cards share the same hardware. GPU, GDDR5 memory, and 192bit memory interface.  Both have advanced coolers that do not spin unless needed.  If you are a fan of Afterburner, and every dollar counts, go with the MSI.  If you can spend a little more and enjoy EVGA Precision (like me) then grab the EVGA... which has higher base/boost clock speeds over the MSI.  The cards will perform similarly and will run in either of the boards you are considering PCIe x16 3.0.
