this motherboard has a bad design and its making my gpu performance worse than it should be, want to know the issue?

the sata ports are directly behind where my gpu sits and this is causing my 1080 to not sit flush which in turn is making it run at x2 speeds rather than x16. want to know how i know its not the gpu? i tried a 970 which also hits the sata ports, i then tried a smaller older hd series amd card which is smaller and doesnt conflict with the sata ports and its running at its full pcie speed.

so now i have to have my gpu in the x8 slot all because of a poorly designed motherboard which cost me a premium of £100. not happy and i will not be purchasing anything thats from gigabyte.

I see how this could be challenging.  Using the system with any component NOT FULLY SEATED is asking for a short circuit, component failure and/or damage to the board.

Not sure how many devices you have connected, but maybe you can move the connectors to one or more of the lower (double stack) connectors or above / below the horizontal plane of the card.  ??

i have had to put the gpu in the x8 slot, this is the only thing i could do, the gpu will not sit flush in the x16 slot, its impossible due to the sata ports sticking out way too far and the gpu is touching them, if i force it, it will break my 1080 which is worth way more than this poorly  made motherboard.

I know this is an old thread, but...

the sata ports on my MB (same model) are the same depth as the pci slot, so if your GPU hits the sata slots it must have an area that is deeper than the PCI connection?
