I reviewed the other post. Is this identical to what you are seeing?
Network adapter present and correctly installed in Device Manager?
Network adapter shows as "connected" when an Ethernet cable is connected, but no access to network?
Troubleshooting steps:
Press Start Menu button > type RUN > Select Run Desktop App from menu > type CMD in dialog box
Type ipconfig at command prompt, press enter. Share "Ethernet adapter Ethernet" output.
Hint: Use ctrl+m or right click "mark" to highlight the output for copy paste.
If the local IPv4 address starts with 169.x.x.x it means your modem or router is not assigning your machine an IP address or DHCP network parameters. This should give you some ideas where to start looking.
If you have any anti-virus or anti-mal ware applications installed besides Windows Defender, please uninstall while troubleshooting is performed.
