GA-AX370 K7 Board memory /board issues
« on: June 24, 2017, 04:42:01 pm »
Hello everyone. Got a K7 board in early May and a Ryzen 1700. Have been struggling since to get my6 memory to work at anything except the default 2133 speed.
Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
Corsair 1000w power supply
XFX Radeon 290X 4gb
Corsair Dominator Platinum CMD32GX4M2B3000c15 yes 2 *16 gb
Samsung 850 Pro MVe -512 gb

Got board with F2 bios, upgraded to F3
First attempt to use the XMP profile saw the PC unable to boot and the boot bios when it did finally manage to boot was F2!!
First board lasted 3 weeks and then was completely dead. Power supply checked out good.
With new board, I awaited bios updates to enlarge the usable memory modules. Put F4e on the board and tried to get it to run at 2666 with the DRAM voltage set to 1.35V. Reboot, reboot and reboot. Back to 2133
Then spotted the " EZ overclock tuner" in the bios, which seemed to have memory speed setting options eg 2133, 2666, 2933,3200. Set it to 2933 and had the same reboot saga.
However I shortly discovered that my Norton Security had become an expired trial version and My Windows 10 Pro was not activated. Sorting out re-activation with Microsoft was over an hour of effort on the phone.
I have CPU-Z 1.79 on the PC and that shows the memory still running at 2133 despite the bios showing 2933(pic attached). Does anyone know what EZ overclock tuner is supposed to do and can it be made to work?
I have asked Gigabyte technical support but get no useful information.

The BIOS is showing 2933... make sure you have CPU-Z version 1.79.1.

Try setting XMP, and disable EZ Overclock Tuner.

Hi there,

I have this motherboard and have found that the usual software for checking out the system such as CPUz, HW Monitor etc., are still a bit buggy.

Download the Ryzen Master software from AMD here: https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/ryzen-master as this is the best software for getting accurate temp, voltage, RAM Speed, voltages.

On my system I am running the R7 1800X along with 32Gb (4x8Gb sticks) of Vengeance RAM (CMK32GX4M4A2400C14) at 2400 Mhz.

I have the F3 BIOS and set the RAM speed from the XMP Profile setting in BIOS.

I tried the F4e beta BIOS but found that to be missing some things so reverted to the F3. A new F4 BIOS was released a few days ago so it might be worth trying that.
