Z97 G1 sniper chipset drivers or not
« on: July 31, 2017, 09:44:31 pm »
Hi. I just installed a new windows 10 pro on my mobo. Everything is running ok but is it crucial to install the gigabyte drivers from Gigabyte download section? Meaning why install drivers when windows did that from start?

Go to device manager and see if everything is installed from there. I would be surprised if windows 10 installed the chipset driver. It is an older motherboard so it could have. Has been awhile since I ran my 1150 board and hard to remember if I had to install chipset or not. I had to install the bigfoot utility though.

All seems fine in device manager but is there a reason to do it anyway?

I would do chipset drivers especially the inf one for performance it wont hurt and if already installed it will tell you. The bigfoot utility is because i use both internet ports and i use it to control them.

Hello,

You don't have to but if the MS ones are outdated get the drivers directly from Intel.
