Gigabyte Superb 720W on i7 930

Hi all,  

I just purchased a new PSU which is the Superb 720W, my system specs are :

Intel Core i7 930 stock speeds
3Gigs of G.Skill Trident 1600MHz 8,8,8,24 @ 1.6V in Tri-Channel
X58A-UD3R rev 1.0 Bios Ver, F5 (latest)
Gigabyte Radeon HD 5850 stock speeds
LG Writer
Zalman 9900 Cooler
Superb 720W PSU
Lian Li Fulltower Case

My issue is that Everest Ultimate Monitoring software is showing this reading on the 12V during 4 cores stress testing using Prime95 .. no failing nor freezing .. also no restart all are good



Its a new PSU .. I tried my 600Watt Tt Toughpower .. same thing  

What do think ?!!

Another thing.. I purchased another 5850 card and I want to dedicate one of my PSU's to it .. can I  plug the card to the PSU and  wil it  run normally ?
or the PSU needs to be hooked up to the Motherboard in order to initiate its operation ?!

First thing if you are still having problems is to check that the readings you are getting from Everest are correct. Use a multimeter and physically test the voltages.

you would have to use the green and black wire trick to get the PSU to start up in unison with the main one , but I see no other reason for any problems as long as you physically have room in the case for it. A lot depends on your electronic skills, not difficult but you will need to be careful with your wiring. Is there any particular reason for using a dedicated PSU? The 720w should be man enough.
