see I am split on the whole asus thing, I do like their products, but support was bad when windows7 came out, and some of their boards that were only a year old were not supported, yes there are workarounds but a bios update would have been nice.
Their sister company ASRock on the other hand produces just about the best budget kit out there
as Gigabyte are more mainstream - highend, I have been getting the little N68-C boards that have both DDR2&DD3 onboard along with an AM2+
for about £30 you cant go wrong
but I love my gigabyte boards for gaming rigs , stable, and full of features. On my 3rd Gigabyte board for my main rig.
