Another GA-X58A-UD5 (rev 1.0) just won't allow 1600Mhz Triple RAM thread!

Hey fella.

Yeh, I checked that before buying the board and even though only 3G Corsair is supported (like DM has) I figured it would support 12G @ 1600Mhz.

I was wrong! lol

At a stretch i can live with it running @ 1333Mhz but it feels like I now have under-used RAM and an under-performing board. It may not be the case but it feels like it.

I'll dip my toe in the RMA water but it's with SCAN in the UK and they have a really convoluted process.

Yes, go for it. I know what you mean about it playing on your mind and you will never feel happy with the setup. Get it RMAd and don't take no for an answer!

I use SCAN for a lot of my component purchases and, on the very rare occasions that I have had to RMA anything I have found them to be very good. Yes, the process is a bit long winded and sometimes it takes longer to replace the defective part than is convenient, but they get there in the end.

You also have the option of RMAing the board direct to Gigabyte UK if you want to. Just contact their technical support via the website and tell them your problem.(they are not exactly fast though!)
