The ION2 is already out in the states, there are several different models now available. eg: Shuttle X350 mini PC with dual-core Atom D510 and NVIDIA ION 2 now available in the US. So how long before we can see them over here? I know that this isn't a netbook but there are others.

We looking at releasing the ION2 solutions in the next 2~3 months, we may not be the first to release ION2 solution, but our product will be excellent   ;D

I have a few questions about battery life for the T100 family:

1. What battery life does Gigabyte expect to see from these devices?
2. What sort of battery life have people experienced on them so far?
3. Can they hot-swap batteries, have larger batteries installed, etc?

1. What battery life does Gigabyte expect to see from these devices?

A difficult question because it depends on so many factors such as Wireless / Bluetooth / 3G / brightness of your screen etc…
T1000 series using a Li-ion 6-cell, 7650mAh battery can give 5~8 hours of battery life.

3. Can they hot-swap batteries, have larger batteries installed, etc?Our batteries can be removed and currently the Li-ion 6-cell (7650mAh) battery is the biggest battery we can offer for this unit.
You can have more than one battery

I hope this helps

Hi RuiPereira regarding the question about "hot swapping" batteries I take it I would be right in assuming that isn't possible?

Thanks RuiPereira for your help. I agree battery life is a tricky thing to measure - one in "your mileage may vary" considerably.

@ DarkMantis - My understanding from the local supplier is that hot swapping is not possible. You would need to do something like hibernate, swap batteries and restore.

Thanks both.
