GA-H55N-USB3
« on: June 20, 2010, 12:56:12 am »
Hi,

I am looking to build a new small yet powerful ITX PC.  I would like to use the GA-H55N-USB3 with an Intel core i5 650 (73 watt) processor.  4 Gb (Dual DDR3 SDRAM), and a SATA II Samsung Spinpoint Eco Green 1.5TB drive and a small for factor dvd writer.

The problem is, that whilst speccing it for as small amount of power as possible, I will be looking to install this into a Silverstone LC-12B-120 case.  The case comes with a 120Watt PSU.

My question is would the 120Watt PSU be sufficient?  Has anyone else built a similar unit or steered through the potential pitfalls?, would I be better using a 2.5" notebook drive or an ssd?

Any comments gratefully received.

I tend to favour the Silverstone SG* models and a quality 300w supply myself.

You might like to check out Wiki on Whirlpool there are various SFF builds:

If you time on your hands, the HTPC Wiki discussion thread has a wealth of info about SFF cases and supplies, but you need to read though a lot to find it :)

I think I tend to agree with you and will err on the side of caution and go with the 300w psu SG06.

Thank you for taking the time to write your response

many thanks
