Install Gigabyte X58A-UD3R mobo in Thermaltake Element V chassis.

Hi....this is my first build!!!!...........Gigabyte X58A-UD3R mobo in Thermaltake Element V chassis.
I have installed the i/o back plate, but when I mount the mobo to the chassis, it doesn't line up with the i/o plate.
When I line up the mobo to the i/o plate, there is a gap of 1.5cm between the mobo & the mobo mounting tray which makes the board sit at an angle.
Also I would need much longer mounting screws to secure the board.
Question:_ should this board sit at an angle when properly mounted or am I missing something.

Hi.....thanks very much for your prompt reply.
image p6300010 is the mobo in position ready to secure.....note the i/o back plate (mis)alignment in image 05
When I align the i/o connectors to the i/o plate, it lifts the mobo 1½cms off the mobo tray at the left of image 10, while the right of the image shows the mobo flat on the mounting tray. I am assuming that I need to lift the right side of the mobo 1½cm so it sits level....if this is the case, what should I use to level it.
I have searched every inch of Gigabyte & Thermaltake websites & forums, but can find no other reference to this problem

now i know that this is probably a stupid newbie question, but when I presented this problem to Gigabyte via the tech help tab, the reply was that I should take the mobo mounting tray out of the chassis & (I quote) try to bend or warp it.

The problem is obvious. You haven't installed the motherboard standoffs first. These are the little posts that keep the motherboard from touching the backplate. Nice easy fix.

Hi......Thanks very much for the info......I assumed it would be something along the lines of your answer, just hadn't come across this before.
For those off you that are going to experience this problem, know that neither Thermaltake nor Gigabyte provide these standoffs in the box.
as I said, 'a stupid newbie question' ...........probably the first of many )

Hi.....a quick footnote to this thread.......I e-mailed Thermaltake looking for the standoffs.....they have redeemed the ommision of the parts by offering to send them to me.....free of charge.

Congrats on getting it sorted, they should have included them in the case accessories. All in all a good setup when you have completed the build. If youn run into any more problems just come back and post them here.

yep its an ok case the element v and im glad you mananged to sort it out. If you happen to loose any thermaltake stuff, i have FOUR EX review cases here with some spares just in case buddy

That's the problem, I don't buddy
They are one mean case though. The only thing is I don't know where I would put it, but I'm sure I would make it fit somewhere if I had one! Even if i had to use the chainsaw on the desk
