Hi all. I seem to be stuck at my 3.2 OC and am not sure the steps moving forward. I am trying to get a procedure like Gunrunner requested here-
http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,176.0.html. I guess my first question is if the procedure would be the same despite the difference in mobo?
If not then I would like to get the steps needed to ramp up from 3.2 to 3.8/4.0
I have killed several small trees printing out all the information I have found so far on OCing. I reviewed the guide here but had some concerns setting any of the voltages in the pink.
One thing to notes, is that my OCZ DDR3-1600 memory does not have XMP settings so to get it to run at optimal speed everything must be set manually or it will default to 1066.
I found another guide that found a stable OC at 3.8GHz with safe voltages, but I only made it into Vista one time before BSOD to a 101 error. Now it just goes directly to a different BSOD and reboots too quickly for me to even
read it.
Here are the settings I tried for a 3.8 OC:
turbo mode off
CPU multiplier 19
BCLK 200
CPU voltage 1.36
QPI Voltage 1.35
CPU PLL 1.8
all others set to auto
Dram voltage 1.64
Memory timings set manually with a 8X multiplier and 7-7-7-24 2T TRFC 88
My goal is to get the highest combination of CPU/mem speeds that is stable. If I can get 3.8 but have to lower my mem speed that is ok.
Please help! Thanks in advance.
