No boot no video Gigabyte E2100N

Hi,

The motherboard suddenly stops working, i alrready clear cmos, changed ram, with no luck.
i have A PCI TEST Board and the post code stais in F6, but i don´t know what that code means in gigabyte mobo´s.

Also the motherboard has dual bios, so i try to restore the backup bios but nothing happens.

any ideas what could it be?

Might be helpful if you provided your system specs for us.  For clarity, stopped working as in..  doesn't boot into the OS? Or doesn't POST and/or display anything when started?

Start disconnecting peripherals and see if this allows the BIOS to display.  F6 normally indicates a problem with memory or disk.  Best guess since this board doesn't have a diagnostic display and I don't know what you are using to troubleshoot with.

It's a gigabyte E2100n motherboard.  To troubleshoot i am using a Two digits display PCI test card, no peripherals connected, no post or display after power on. The memory module i tested it on another board dame model AND works.

Your generic 2 digit test card is like using a generic OBDII reader on your vehicle.  It may indicate a fault, but cannot give you the manufacturers specific DTC or "P" code specific for the vehicle.  If you have stripped the board down, tested each component and still receive an error or no boot situation, then a component has likely failed.

You system specs would normally include all connected components and peripherals, rev of your board and BIOS revision you are using.  This saves people from having to visit the E2100N webpage only to learn there is one rev of the board, one BIOS revision and limited memory options (only 1333Mhz) supported.

At this point, I would attempt CLR_CMOS and see if this helps.  If not, I would attempt to invoke boot from the back up BIOS.  If that fails, and you have verified the function of the other devices, the board has failed.

Do you know how to invoke boot from backup bios in this board? I have tried some methods i found on web but they didn't work.

thanks for answering, these are the steps i followed:
1. power off by the power suply button
2. press the power button and keep pressed and  power on by the power suply button
3. keep power button pressed, the motherboard will start booting, after it starts release both button at the same time quickly
4. then power on the power suply button
5. power on button in the case
6. the message of recovery bios will show up.

It sounds as if you have performed the correct steps.  What you are basically doing is interrupting POST by interrupting power, discharging residual power by holding in the power button and reapplying power using the switch on the PSU. 

If you've done this and the system has restarted one or more times without success, faulty hardware or BIOS corruption is indicated.  It's not common for both BIOS chips to fail, so it's probably something else. 

Further troubleshooting involves stripping down the board, perform CLR_CMOS and/or battery pull, and trying to start with just one stick of RAM installed (populated in slot farthest from CPU socket).  You can try reseating the CPU also, but I'm not optimistic, if the above steps have been performed without success.
