GA-X58A-UD5 Rev. 1.0: Best 12GB memory recommendations please

Hi everyone.

I'm doing a build on a GA-X58A-UD5 Rev. 1.0 motherboard and have a hit a little problem with memory. I selected Corsair CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 for the build, but stock isn't available at present, so I am looking for something else that will work well in this board. I have read the Gigabyte Memory Support List for the motherboard, but it doesn't seem to have been updated since January 4th, 2010, and is way out of date.

I have also read here some incompatibility issues with Corsair memory, so I am rethinking whether to use Corsair, even though it has been a reliable brand for me.

What I'm looking for:
12GB preferably 3x4GB, but maybe 6x2GB
PC3-12800 (1600 MHz)
Timings of 8-8-8-24 or better
1.5 Volt for standard speed and timings, but consider 1.65V
Supports XMP
With decent heat sinks

So, I'm wondering what brands work well with this motherboard, with no issues, and if someone knows, what memory would meet my needs.

Thanks in advance.

The Dominators that you specified are the ones I am running at present and are brilliant. I have the UD7 board but basically it is the same as yours. I think that Corsair are satopping production of these modules and replacing them with the CMP6GX3M3A1600C8 6GB Dominator . I don't suppose that they are on the QVL for this motherboard because as you say it is well out of date.

Thanks for the feedback Dark Mantis. I still may be able to get the CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 from an eBay seller here in Australia, but I am hesitant to buy high priced memory via eBay.

I guess my question was as much which brands work well with the UD5 motherboard, since Corsair do seem to have had some compatibility problems. Local suppliers seem to think Kingston works well in the Gigabyte boards, but their opinions may be tainted.

I'll keep researching I guess. :)

You should still be able to get brand new Dominators from suppliers as they have only just stopped manufacture from my information. I haven't heard of anyone with problems with these modules. All manufacturers have RAM that is incompatible with certain motherboards just make sure that whatever you purchase is on the QVL and you should be safe. If your in Aus why not check out Whirlpool,  I am sure there wouldn't be any shortage of advice on there ;D.
