Using Gigabyte software with Windows 10

Using Gigabyte software with Windows 10
« on: January 24, 2018, 01:47:39 pm »
I've just built a new system with a GA AX370 K7 board, Ryzen 1800x CPU

I have Windows 10 (pro 64bit) running but I'm unable to run the App Centre from Gigabyte - continuously throws an error on screen.
In task manager the App Centre is listed as "App Centre (32bit)" if it makes any difference. Although there are no choices to make when downloading the software

Out of sheer curiosity I downloaded App Centre onto my old HP laptop - it worked perfectly (Win 8.1 64bit)

What else can I try?

Thanks in adavance

Anyone able to shed some light on this?

Much appreciated

Greetings,
This question comes up from time to time.  I'm running under windows 10 (1709).  I haven't updated to 16299.125 yet (released 1/23), as I am traveling at the moment.  But it was working prior to this.

What I typically suggest:

Try an earlier or later version of the software.  What comes on your MB CD is usually an earlier rev that what you can download from the website.

If you find a version that is stable, don't update it.  Use System Restore to revert to a point in time before the software was installed and test both versions for stability.  I would also not install the entire suite of Apps...  just select those you plan to use.

Thank you for your experience & advice

The App Centre is only available online though with no options for different versions, unless I am looking in the wrong place?
 - it was not included on the CD with the mobo

Here is where I downloaded App Centre

Hi,

Not sure what disc came with your motherboard but I'm running the same plate and the disc that came with mine was Ver1.2

App Center is definitely on this disc (see attached image file) but you have to click on the second tab (box) on the left of the window to access it.

By the way, on a personal note, I do not run this program on my own PC as I feel it doesn't really give any benefit but it does cause a lot of issues.

Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

I must of got something muddled up along the way as I copied the CD onto a USB stick - my system has no CD-ROM drive

I reinstalled from the USB and since then I have updated BIOS to version F10 and got App Centre running - although every time I open the app Windows asks me if I want to update the software. Is that normal?

Thanks for your help so far

Cheers ABSIC!

Trevor,
The auto update prompt is normal.  I believe it can be disabled by right-clicking on the system tray icon and
selecting settings.  Not in front of my PC ATM...  will give you exact steps tomorrow unless someone replies first.
