Hi guys, I had a thorough browse but didnt see a fix to the problem i am experiencing so i made a new topic, apologies in advance if i missed a relevant thread.
I have been running a Q6600 (go stepping) on a Asus P5N32-E-SLI plus for a couple of years now, i am not into overclocking and have always ran my rig at stock speeds and voltages. Earlier this week my pc died mid use and on trying to reboot i found it wouldnt post, on changing some ram around i found 1 of the ram slots (slot 1) had died completely. I figured i would buy myself a new mobo and opted for the GA-EP45-UD3LR on the advice of afew forums i searched.
I have fitted my new mobo this morning but i am having difficulty in getting this to go into the BIOS, it makes the single beep, the lights flick on and off on my keyboard but then it hangs on the splash screen indefinately. I am using the 1.1 revision of the board, an Intel Q6600 Go stepping version with an Arctic Freezer pro 7 rev2 HSF, 2x2GB DDR2 800 OCZ ram (2.1v), Nvidia 8800gt and an 850w PSU.
I have tried some basics to get this working including:
trying 1 stick of the OCZ DDR2 800 RAM in all the slots
trying different single sticks of lower voltage (1.8v Elixir 1gb sticks) in all the slots
trying a different (albeit only 400 watt) PSU
trying a ps2 keyboard instead of my USB
trying to boot with only the CPU, HSF, single stick of ram and video card connected
trying all of the above both in and out of my case incase of shorting
I have had no joy with any of the above steps and they all result in a hang at the splash screen. I was hoping someone may have had this issue before or possibly reccomend any further steps to try, unfortunately i do not have access to a second CPU for testing.
It may also be worth noting that the phase led's are indicating:
1 green
2 green
3 orange
4 red
Many thanks for your time guys
