Hi,

I bought a second hand gaming computer and the motherboard will not boot. It has a Core i7 Extreme Edition 3960X LGA2011 6 Cores 3.3gHz, 32GB Corsair Dominator RAM
NOCTUA NH-D14 CPU COOLER and 2GB Gigabyte GTX670 Graphics Card.

I have spent hours trying to get it to work. Sometimes it runs for 1 second and cuts out. The fans spin and then nothing. Other times it boots into windows and then cuts out. Will not boot again. I have replaced the thermal paste and tested the memory and graphics card.

I have bought another X79 motherboard to use with the CPU and card however was wondering why the board no longer works.

I would be grateful for any help. I have tried a brand new power supply as well.
Thank you
Sean

Have you taken the CPU out? Look at the pins you might have one that is bent or not in the right spot.
